9: The Number of the beast

Words: john godinez

Build a track car? No problem. Daily drive that track car? No problem either. Thats what this Evo is all about! Owned by Mark Pizzaro, well known around the local race scene, this beast will surely catch your attention. If you have been monitoring Circuit Showdowns, you've probably seen this car dominate the tracks. Wondering whats so special about this beast? Well, we at Fresh Produce had the privilege of seeing this beast at its lair.

Talking with Mac Lasala of Quick Start Performance, we found out that this Evo has been through a whole lot through its life. Bought brand new, as it went out the dealer, it got hit by a jeep! I know, we freakin hate jeeps also! The car also went through different shops and tuners, but Mark still wasn't happy with the way it turned out. When Mark was referred to QSP, the transformation began.

From C West and Giala kits, they changed it and used Voltex kits. And to emphasize, LEGIT Voltex kits. The engine build and tuning lasted for 8 months. Using various parts, the Evo was built to leave others in the dust. This car is a regular sight at Circuit Showdowns. The car was displayed in a car show at Mall of Asia a few months back, but the real purpose was for one mile and track runs.

And as all tuners know, when an engine is being built, it has to be broken-in. Guess where? The car went through a 1000mile solo break-in roadtrip which lasted for 3 days, reaching as far as tarlac.
Picture
You probably want to know dyno results? Well, we don't know if you'd be amazed or disappointed, but they also don't know. Reason? The dyno results showed ERROR. Yes, this Monster exceeded the speed limit of the Dyno!

We must say, this is a car worth being bragged about locally and internationally. And we are honored to be the first ones to show what this Evo is all about.
